Thousands do not. Families will provide their autistic child(ren) with fun activities appropriate with their learning ability.

Is it normal for a family to take vacations without the autistic child? I have heard of families that have done this

They are people with feelings, so they would feel just as left out as anyone else. I know a couple of families with autistic children and they would never leave them at home. They adjust the activity so that the autistic child can join in.

Hard to tell. Many autistic kids don't express themselves very well.
