I work at a daycare and am an artist in my free time. One of my favorite babies is leaving due to distance and since i paint in my free time, i painted a portrait of him to give his mom. Now im worried shell get weirded out. Is it weird or thoughtful?
What a lovely gift ! Unless you've given the mother a reason in the past to be weirded out...I'd say go ahead. Think she'll be delighted.

That is beautifully, exquisitely thoughtful. If I were the mom, I would cherish the portrait forever and tell the little boy the whole story as he grew up, just to give him affirmation of his own wonderfulness.
