I imagine we all have, from time to time.
Mrs Didge and I were driving on a remote road in blistering heat when we saw two older ladies struggling to walk to the railway station. We gave them a lift.
No big deal, but the point of this story is this. When they got out, one of the ladies said, "Thank you. I'll do something for somebody else."
I thought it was a nice attitude. Share the love.
I came here.
Of course. My mama raised me right. Simple courtesies matter. Helping a little old lady get something off the top shelf at the grocery store. Opening the door for a mom pushing a stroller. Picking up something someone dropped and handing it back.
A couple of weeks ago I saw a man drop a paper while heading into the UPS store. I was driving by. I parked my car got out and picked up the paper and went into the store to return it. The gentleman was so glad to get it back as his return shipping label and info was on there. He was sending and expensive electronic item back and needed that label to get his refund.
I went and did community service today again. This guy and I got to stand in the middle of the road and direct traffic!🚙 Which means we had to stop everybody at the intersection wanting to turn our way and ask them why they wanted to go down there. If they were part of the event or lived on the road, they could pass..otherwise they had to turn around and leave. Three and a half hours of moving barrels, peoples attitudes, fighting the urge to knock some of them out, and some nice trucks! :) Not to mention, I looked fantastic in that safety green vest😉
I pay people's library fines
yes. I opened doors for people.
Lady living on a shoestring budget was looking for some pine cones so she and her daughter could decorate them for Xmas. So I boxed up somne and mailed them to her back east.
