I think that is not dating. I call it 'out for a walk'. Like you do when you go out with friends.

Unless you have feeling for her and hoping to get closer.

I think why date then. The whole point of dating is to get to know someone better and have some fun. Dating with no purpose is pointless.

I guess what I mean by dating without a purpose is just going out with different guys/girls just to try them out for size, not knowing them well enough to have any commitments made.
