I'm 18 and I have a plan of studying overseas with my boyfriend. Am I being immature by asking my parents for some freedom?

I don't think so. In fact, I think the opposite. I think it's a very mature thing for you to do. It means you respect your parents' opinion but just because you respect their opinion, does not mean you have to agree with them. You are 18 now and have the choice to do as you please. I think your parents will appreciate you asking for more freedom.

Not at all. You are 18 which means you are practically an adult and have the right for freedom if you want it. However, if you do something silly while away your parent s might find it hard to let you go again. But if you are responsible enough and show that to your parents, I'm sure they'll let you go.
