If you're helping pay the rent as a month-to-month tenant he must provide 30 day written notice of eviction. If you are not helping pay the rent he may ask you to leave at any time. If you can prove you've been receiving mail and paying a portion of the rent, you have the right to reasonable time move out (30 days). If you fail to leave in 30 days he can file and official eviction notices, where the sheriff would remove you 30 days after this time.
