The age at which a girl starts to grow pubic hair is normally around 10.
At this age you will have already started going through puberty. Puberty happens when a girl or boy’s body starts going through changes. At this time your body is preparing you for your journey to becoming an adult. The hormone levels in your body will start to change. With this change in your body you will start to grow pubic hairs, your breasts will start developing, and you will grow taller. You will also start menstruating. Puberty will usually start between the ages of eight and 13. When this happens, your body will send a signal from your pituitary glands to the ovaries for your puberty to start. All of these same changes will happen to each and every girl, but they will happen at different times for each girl. The changes are all a part of growing into a woman. These changes are a milestone in your young life.
Most girls start to grow their pubic hair before their breasts start to grow. Pubic hair will grow before your underarm hair. Your underarm hair will usually start appearing in the later stages of your puberty. You might find that your breasts will develop unevenly. You must not worry about this, as it is perfectly normal. Most girls will start their periods when they are about 12 or 13. Some girls though, might start when they are nine and others might only start when they are 15. When you are going through puberty, your waist will get smaller and your hips will widen and you will start to develop a curvy and healthy shape. Your skin might also get oilier, and you might get acne. This is from your oil glands and hormones becoming more active.

@GK123 not having pubic hair is normal at age 10. I'm 11 and don't have any, and I'm normal, so don't worry.

Girls generally grow pubic hair from ages 8-ish to age 16-ish. Most girls start growing pubic hair at age 11. Personally, I started growing pubic hair at about 8 years old. And to the person who thought not having a period at age 11 is bad -- it's perfectly fine! Many girls haven't had their periods by age 11. I am going to be 12 in one month and I haven't had my period yet! :)

There is no need to be afraid of getting pubic hair, or your period.  And now we all start at different times.  My little sister is 9, but she will be 10 soon,  and she just told me she has a hair under her arm (yes, just one hair!) and she said she also has some hairs 'down there'.  She is kinda freaked out by it.

I am 18, and was really freaked out at first, and I was even older when it happened to me.  Even though everyone told me not to be worried, I still was.  Now that I realize it's not so bad, and you can still be a kid just because there are changes.   I got my period when I was in 7th grade.

So you can either worry about it - but that doesn't do you any good, does it?  OR you can just realize it's another step in life,  you'll get through it.  And you know what?  All of your friends are probably freaking out about it too, so you are perfectly normal.

I started growing pubic hair around 10 and underarm hair around 11, not too long ago. I'm 12 now and I'm anxiously awaiting my period. I'm scared its going to come unexpectedly and be embarrassing. But girls grow pubic hair at all different ages. Some at 9 but some at 12 or 13 too. The best of luck :)

You shouldn't worry until you are 14, then you might want to ask at least your mom or doctor about it.

It's not bad, you are just an early bloomer and sometimes pubic hair does grow all the way to places where they stick out, it's normal.

Hey, if you're 12, I'm sure your friends (or at least some) have pubic hair, I know 11 year olds with it, so it fine.

You usually don't get your period until at least 2 years after pubic hair, and I would shave, but that's just me
