Dear Jan,
This is not so much me personally, more a general injustice I am seeing for old people...
Elders can be frail, and at the same time in poverty; unable to take a stand. Or, seniors know their years are limited now, and may not want to spend precious energy confronting injustice. So they just endure, and those (supposedly) serving the old often know exactly how much they can get by with.
Here is one example. At a senior center locally with nourishing cheap meals, you can get verbally assaulted for any slight infraction of the rules, and the rules are not always clear anyway. (I saw an old man in his nineties, grieving the death of his wife; he was late by three minutes..wow!) The treatment is aggressive and rude, no restaurant could ever get by with that they would be out of business quickly.
And old folks in poverty count on that nutrition...so they just endure.

(And yes, I did take a stand...that senior center very likely will end up re-thinking their policies.)
