Whether you can combine travel and hobby depends on how you travel to the college and whether you can do it on the way.
I spent more than 30 years travelling to work 5 or 6 days a week for an elapsed time of 3 hours 30 minutes a day, and that's when the trains were on time. I managed to combine my interests with the train trip quite nicely.
You may have to modify your hobbies to encompass the journey or, failing that spend the time studying.
I tend to agree with the Welcome to the wonderful world of reality. As thousands have gone down the road youre traveling and many more will, this is only temporary and will end one day when you graduate College and then watch how exciting life gets when you get a job and maybe a family one day. Life was never promised to us to be exciting so we just make the most of it and enjoy the ride as it doesn't last forever. One day you will realize that these probably will be the best days of your life and you will miss them so enjoy it and if you really want to do something else here, youll find a way. We all did.
