We were given a car when my husband took a leap of faith and accepted a job an hour and a half away..... Knowing he had no wheels to get to work! THAT was an amazing testimony!!! :0)
Recently I was with my brother having lunch at our local family restaurants. He recently had gotten off of work and still had his policeman's uniform on. The owner's son (who is a busboy) came up to us and told us that he had recently passed the written exam for the Chicago Police and had to go for the physical endurance test and psych evaluation and wanted to know what he could expect. Turns out my brother knows the guy at the Academy who gives the test and offered to bring this young guy in and introduce him and make him feel more at ease. At the end of the meal, my brother goes to pay $20 for our breakfast and he received a $10 bill, $5 bill and five singles in change. The guy simply smiled and said "You're the first person I met that didn't try and talk me out of what I really want to be".
this retired cop bought a good bicycle for me and let me make payments to him to pay it off . I still have the bike and i fixed it up even better and its payed off .that was about two yrs ago
My son paid to have my hair cut and styled when I went to The Who concert in May. I was so touched, it made me cry.
Dear Pea Nuts,
I moving into this apartment just a few weeks ago with almost nothing, needing everything after almost a year homeless... Agencies NOT helpful.
My next-door neighbor who knows about difficult times she has been in prison seven times, she went door-to-door gathering spare gear, and by nightfall I had enough to outfit the basics in kitchen, bathroom, living room.
A day later someone knocked on the door with a bed, someone else with 2 chairs and an ottoman, then someone with a desk, small bookcase... People were asking what I needed, and then bringing it by.
People are good.
They left me here.
Sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers in a beautiful vase.....
Made me smile......
Has been there for me.....
Made me smile.....
It's an ongoing thing, there is no "last" thing!
