Adopt a more flexible philosophy.

esthetics---

the philosophical theory or set of principles governing the idea of beauty at a given time and place:

the clean lines, bare surfaces, and sense of space that bespeak the machine-age aesthetic; the Cubist aesthetic.

The first part of the phrase in italics defines "the Cubist aesthetic."

The first part of my answer tells you that whatever aesthetic you adopt concerning anything in your life determines whether or not you feel any pressure to implement same philosophy.

So chose your poison or chose no poison at all---it's up to you.
