What is the problem with doing hand practice?

People say you go blind after doing that a certain amount of times, however I believe that's false. They say that only to scare you and try to convince you to actually go out and get a relationship and get "practice" that way.

But honestly, there's absolutely no problem to doing it. There's pros and cons for it.
