Very simple: do more, earn more, and do it without being told. You have to show you are willing to take on more responsibility, so you should make more.
Or if it doesn't happen, stage a sit-in as a protest
Make a slide show or presentation on how you would use the money and that you will be responsible. If you give examples she will probably come through.
Try to prove some sort of return on her investment.
For example, you could show her that each extra dollar she adds to your allowance will motivate you to study harder.
Outline a plan for exactly what you intend to focus on in terms of your studies and show her the tangible benefits that focusing will have:
i.e. You could explain that you're going to spend an extra few hours each week doing some supplementary mathematics exercises to hone your skills, enabling you to build up the skills required to pursue a degree in nanotechnology engineering, a field which is predicted to boom over the next decade.
You could then use national employment databases to chart out your projected earnings, and compare that to the initial investment you are looking for.
