Becoming a pornstar is my dream too, and I have been researching it for some time.
Here's the conclusions I have made:
- It helps to know people in the business - ESPECIALLY a female pornstar that can introduce you, or is willing to work with you.
- You need to be well endowed (unless you are trying to get into certain types of niche porn).
- Good health, good body. You do see some male porn actors with beer guts etc.. but how many of them make a successful career out of it? For all you know, those people could just be the friends of the director or something. The REAL male porn STARS are usually model-material.
- You need to live somewhere that has a healthy porn industry. It's pretty obvious that if you live in California, you will find it easier to get into the adult industry than you would if you were living in a country where even owning porn videos is illegal, for example.
- You have to be able to perform in "difficult" circumstance. Everyone is watching you, it might be cold/hot, the scene might involve strenuous positions for long periods of time. It is harder than you think to stay "focused" on the job at hand in this kind of environment.
- You need to be charming and charismatic, or have something unique and marketable about you.
If you want to make it big, you have to have a selling point, a gimmick. Otherwise, you will be just a faceless body for a few movies, until they get bored of you and move on to someone else.
