Counselors tend to get the info they need out of children without being direct. Questions asked really depend on what the child is there for. My son for instance has OCD. Questions his counselor ask are trivial (How do you like school, What did you learn today, How are you feeling today, What's your favorite sport, etc) in an effort to get the child to open up and talk on his own terms without making him feel like he's on a firing line or on someone elses agenda.
