The Marriages were a lot different. People would get married secretly instead of out in the open like today. Approximately half of the women that were married were under 20 years old at the time. Also the Birth rate jumped dramatically reaching its peak on 1957. The average family would live in a one house suburban and that was considered the "middle Class". All married women were housewives while the men would go and work.
