My best friend and another friend went out for 8 months but have broken up. I still think they love each other because of how they act together and they make a good couple, should I try to get them back together?

Why? Who would be better to know what is best for them than they themselves? Perhaps they are getting along so well now because they are no longer bound by previous commitments. But whatever the reason, it sounds like they have worked out an arrangement that works for them, even if others don't understand it. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
