When your folks pass away, and you find yourself clearing out their house - that's when you promise yourself you will not make your own kids do this.

My father had every box of everything he had ever bought, up there in the attic. He had every broken electrical 'thing' in the garage. He even kept … Read more

Anonymous seems irrelevant already seeing as we're all on either a cell phone, Ipad or computer as it is. How much anonymity do you need? I don't think it should be an option.

It needs to go.

I often see Qs asked anonymously then the exact same Q asked by a user.  This makes me think they are hitting that button in error.

It's deceiving using the anonymous tab to answer.  We deserve to know who (to some extent) we are talking to.

Very, very often the identity of the asker is a key to answering the question. Quite often an answer starts with "Considering your questions of the last few days ..."

I avoid answering anonymous questions unless they are complete in themselves.

Some of us have been working on the Web developer for a while now to get rid of " Anonymous ". I'm hoping that it will soon be gone as we don't like it any more than you do. Angela and I will stay after them about this and hopefully see it gone !

If you can find another story-teller and read each other's work, and comment … Read more

The metric system generally used is called the 'Rationalized MKS' system.

The MKS is meter, kilogram, seconds. It's rationalized because there are adjustments made (I totally have forgotten where) so that PI only appears in formulae where circularity is involved.

Note that 'kilo' is always spelled with a small k, although generally multipliers (Mega) … Read more

To me, if a sales person uses high dollar terms over my head I feel offended.  If they dumb it up too much I loose interest. If they spend a little time assessing my knowledge about the product to me it shows they care about the product, and the customer.  I would be more likely … Read more

People don't believe in vampires because there's no reason for them. There's no evolutionary chain leading to vampires, they are not required for the world to 'work' and there are no other 'vampire-like' creatures. Except, that is, for bats. We know why vampire bats like to suck a bit of blood every now and then, … Read more
