If you had herpes when you delivered the baby it will have contracted them that way. Or someone could have had herpes while handling the baby and it got it that way. I would hope that you had people wash their hands before handling your baby. Boy, your pediatrician should have explained all this to you thoroughly. I'm so sorry.
