In a word - yes, it's safe to have sex when you're 9 months pregnant!

It's always best to check with your doctor, but there isn't any reason why you can't have sex when you're that far into your pregnancy.

  • As always, if it starts hurting in any way then stop.
  • Try positions like spooning, side-by-side (facing each other), or even with you on top apparently! That sounds uncomfortable to me, but do what feels best for you!
  • It's an old wives' tale that sex during the last weeks of pregnancy can get labour going - but what better excuse to spend some time with your partner?!
  • You may want to explain to your partner that there is no risk of him 'touching the baby' or anything like that... This is not true (but something guys may worry about)!

Again, check with your midwife or doctor if you are really unsure or if you have any health conditions that might be exacerbated by sex, but really, it should be fine to have sex whilst 9 months pregnant. :)

No I don't think so its safe to have sex if you're nine months pregnant because then the baby in you is just about to arrive, and is so small that it may not get hurt or something if you have sex!  So according to me its not safe to have sex if you're nine months pregnant!
