Not sleeping enough can run your body down. I remember when my daughter was born i hardly got more that 2 hours of sleep. It ran my husband and me down. I had an anxiety attack when she was about 2 weeks old. The doctor gave me some medicine for it-i think its called lunesta-and i began taking it and it helped. But one night, my daughter began to choke and i couldn't wake up because of the meds so thank the lord for my husband for being there. He saved her from choking to death. Now i cant sleep hardly. I go to bed about 3 in the morning and cant get up in the mornings for her feedings. I just thought that was normal for a new parent. But you really should go to the doctor about your problem. If you think there will be an interruption, one like mine, tell him you need something to help you sleep but you also need something that wont make you sleep all the time. You never know when someone might need you. That's why i just try to go to bed early. Read a book or watch tv. Maybe you can fall asleep like that. Hope that helps. And sweet dreams when you do.
People who are not sleeping well and having a sleep disorder they are insomnia patients. Insomnia can be caused by many things from a jet lag to a drug addiction. This will lead to depression and anxiety if prolonged. People try taking sleeping pills but in this case it is very harmful. Try to develop your sleeping habit without medication for that you should have a regular sleeping schedule, avoid heavy meals before you go to bed, don't have noise or light in the surrounding, don't sleep in the afternoon and avoid alcohol. Make sure you have a comfortable bed.
I have not had more than 2 hours sleep in at least 10 years. I have been to the doctor and lunesta did not help at all! Nothing works my body does not want to shut down I have tried everything, hour after hour I toss and turn and cuss. I do get very drowsy around 5 in the a.m. But I have to get up at 6:30 and I just stay aggravated. Nothing will happen to you, you will just probably gain weight (doesn't seem fair because you think that you are using more energy when you are awake, but it doesn't work that they) also you will have trouble focusing but you will make it. Good luck
I've been working in a graveyard shift for more than five months and i still have problems establishing my sleep pattern. I usually end up sleeping for less than 5 hours a day. Im concerned it might affect my overall well being in the future...how can i sleep?
