There are no official statistics for the average height of a 12-year-old. Research suggests that the average 12-year-old boy is 60 inches tall and that the average 12-year-old girl is 61.5 inches tall, but they are not truly accurate indicators.

I went did some research and the optimal height for a twelve year old girl is about 5 feet. The highest percentile would be between 5 foot 6 and 5 foot 7. The lowest percentile would be around 4 foot 4 inches.
It depends a lot on the family's height, not just the mom and dad. There is no exact height a kid should be... I'm 12 and I am 5'5" and am considered pretty tall, though. But it can get really embarrassing when you tower over the guys in your school, so some self confidence is good to have when your tall.
My 12 year old son, will be 13 in a few months is 4'11. He is skinny too! He is very sensitive to his height since all his friends tower over him. He gets teased for being short, and is called a midget. I feel awful for him letting him no that he will hit a growth spurt! I was short until 8th grade summer and by freshman year I was 5'8... I see on here tall kids don't like being tall, get teased too! Everyone has feelings about there bodies, I wish kids were nicer!
I'm 15 and I'm 6 foot I want to be like my dad he's 6 foot 5 but my mum is really short she is 5 foot 3 I doubt I will reach my father's height when I reach 21 just in case I'm turning 16 in 3 months
I'm 12 and 4ft 10" which is considered quite short for my age. I think 5ft is the average but it's different for everyone! Some will start of short and end up tall and vice versa, some may end up somewhere inbetween (I'm hoping that's me). Hope I helped.

My son is 12 and has been tall his entire life. He is currently 6 ft 2 1/4 inches tall. He has never felt out of place. He is a very good Basketball player and is getting use to his long torso and legs. He has a size 14 men's shoe.

I stood up straigt and put my shoulders back thrusting my chest out as I I twisted my torso I loooked in the mirror and as I realized I was wearing the hand me down it busted wide open and I saw the tag 32 c turns out my sister threw my bra out and replaced it with one of hers and I didnt even notice however my breast took the bigger bra as an invitation to grow they did ... More then doubling in size to D/DD all while my mom was gone to go along with the fact I had actully measured myself half an inch shorter then I was when my shocked father did today for his fathers day gift from me he lol he marked me @ 5'-7" and got to take me bra shopping... I proudly announced loud enough for ever1 in victorias secret too that I could feel my breast continue to quickly develop so I asked for the DD so I would have room to grow... Any other girls have the same issue with big breast? Because I noticed Some girls were actully as talll or taller then me so I'm relaxed about my height and I'm hoping to find the same is true with my boobs
Well I'm 12 and I'm only 4'9 the last time I checked but I was the 2nd smallest in my class this year.And everyone kept calling me a midget at school.Everyone at my school is tall.So I think I may be below average for a 12 year old girl(by reading the comments above.)
I'm a 11 year old boy and I'm 5 ft 5. I know how all of you "tall" people feel, I get teased sometimes that I'm too tall but ive gotten over that, you just need some self confidence and maybe even friends (like mine) can help you even if there loads more shorter than you are.

I'm 13 and 5'0" and a girl. When I was 12, I was 4'10" and a 1/2. I weigh 120lbs, My mom is 5'5" and about 135lbs. My dad is 6'0" and I don't know how much he weighs. You guys all make me feel short. Lol
Hi :) I'm 12 and 5'2. I am actually pretty tall for my age though because my mom is really short. She is 4'5. But my dad isn't. He is 5'9. I know this guy who is 12 and is 5'11. He is really skinny too. He is sooo lucky!!! I also know this other guy is 5'8 and he barely turned 12 like two months ago. Compared to me, they are hum skyscrapers!!! LOL!!! JK!!! Ok I'm a boy.. I'm 12 years old and 4ft 6, yes I hate my height but listen. My dad is small, 5ft 6, but I do not have ANY, I repeat, ANY of his genes what so ever. My sisters on the other hand, they do. My dad has very short arms and legs and feet. His size shoe is 6. My sisters are fully grown and one is 17 and 5ft 2. One is 24 and about 5ft 4. They both have very short legs and arms.I, however, Have my mum and her dads genes. I'm exactly like my mum and My mum says I'm exactly like her dad. You can see so much similarity between me and my mum, and my mum said same for me and her dad. My mum is 7 and a half in shoe size, Shes 5ft 8 and a half, She has VERY long legs, VERY long arms, Not so long torso but fairly long. And my Mum says when she was my age she was the same height as me, 4ft 6 and when she turned 13 she had a big big big growth spurt and was taller than all of her friends.. My mums dad, was 6ft 2, Had very very long legs, very very long arms, was a size 11 in shoe size, Had lots of hair (Not relevant to height, but like me, I have lots of hair and my hair was the same colour as his) and his torso was fairly long. My arms, and my legs are as long as my fully grown 17 year old sisters. My arms are as long as my dads. My feet are as bigger than my 17 year old sisters, I'm size 5 shes size 4 and a half. And my other sister, whos 24, my feet are as big as hers, my arms are about as long as hers, and same for my arms. Since I have my mum and her dads genes, I'm obviously going to be pretty tall after my growth spurt, my mum ssaid to me, after her first growth spurt, she was 5ft 6. Yes, she shot right up, and was taller than all her friends. She says I can have a growth spurt anyday, I will suddenly just wake up and have pains in my shins, then start growing loads and loads, and after, she says I will be about 5ft 7, because I'm a boy and I'm so much like her dad. And boys grow for longer than girls. She also says imnot smmall coz of my dad, I'm small because she was, and I have her genetics. OK that was a really long answer, but just telling everything.

I'm a 12 year old female, 5'0, and 79 lbs. Everyone around me is shorter than me, well most people, some people I know are 5'6-ish but others range 4'9-4'11 or 5'0. I think 5'0 is the average height, since most people are, and my mom is 5'4 while my dad is 5'10 1/2.
I doubt you'll get taller than that... You're 12 years old, you should know how to convert inches to feet. I'm 11 and I can do that. I'm 4'8 and a half.

You guys are all pretty tall for 12 year olds! I'm actually taller than most boys but after the age of about 13, you start to grow at a smaller pace. (I'm pretty sure) I'm 12 and I'm 5'1 1/2 (61.5in) Usually I'd say th avereage height is probably....60in-63in. Some people can grow pretty tall though...hope this helped!

I stopped growing about a year ago and I searched facts about heights. Looking at this, I'm wondering if I'm not as tall as I think I am... Is 5' 3" (and 1 centimeter) short for a 15 year old? I'm worrying that I won't get much taller than this.
