Try talking about topics that you both enjoy.

For example, there's this boy I like atm & I talk to him about basketball, gaming stuff (ps3, psp, wii, xbox 360, etc).

Try avoiding topics that only HE enjoys.
You'll look like a fool when you don't have anything to say.

Talk to him about life itself.(how much you love and care about him)

Comment on his fashion style, ask questions pertaining to his favorite sports, food, hobbies, classes/teachers. Ask questions regarding his family/friends, pets, beliefs, music and vacations. Good Luck :)

I'm in the same problem hes this that is popular and school but when hes out of school and on the phone hes not a jerk we normally talk about our day and what we doing at the week end good luck! :)
