First of all never mind the people here that don't answer your question but instead put you down or tell you something negative, they don't know you or your situation.  Getting married is exciting and beautiful and no one has the right to take that happiness away from you. Second, your boyfriend should have received some type of rule book or handbook his first day of incarceration, in there should be a page on rules and/or restrictions about getting married. Have him copy the info and mail it to you- you will be making all the phone calls and arrangements.  Also call the jail, tell them your plans of marriage and ask them who you need to speak with to make the arrangements.  Always get what you want, (as long as it doesn't hurt others) and always keep asking questions until you're answered and understand.  GOOD LUCK & HAPPY MARRIAGE!!

I'm not positive but everything I've read has said that it's allowed. The extent of the ceremony allowed may be very minute, if present at all but I'm sure it could be done, especially in a case where an inmate was in a state facility and conjecal visits were allowed. All I can say is if you're going through a situation where you would like to marry an inmate, I commend you for your patience. I'm sure you realise it's not going to be a wedding like the one you dreamt up when you were younger. A lot of people may look down on you, or in utter disgust ask why you would do such a thing but remember it's your life. You know the situation your putting yourself through more than others do and it's not a bad thing. Good luck!!!

There are going to be many many people telling you that your crazy...  And none of those people have ever been put in your situation..  Cept me..  My boyfriend is in jail too, but not for a serious offense and he will be out within a year..  And we are going to get married.  I know the pain you feel and its terrible and no one should go through it...  And you should only go through it if you sure that you love him, and want to spend the rest of your life with him...  Time will be the biggest issue, and depending on how motivated he is next will b a job...       Again I don't know you or your guy, and he could be a great guy!  He just made a mistake...  Listen to your heart, and take a step back and evaluate your situation..  If you can wait, then wait..  If you need to move on, then do that too...  If you ever need to talk I'm here for you

Yes, you can get married while he is in prison. I just recently viewed a program on television about women who marry men in prison. The prison will only allow plain ceremonies with nothing extra, such as wedding attire. Prisons promotes anything positive to change the inmates, such as weddings. It is like rehabilitation. It gives the inmates a taste of the real world in a positive way. Makes them want a nice life when they get out.

Yes you can get married in a Federal Prison...I got married on 11/13/2009 in a level 9.  There is no sex like the other answerer stated.  FBOP does not allow sex visits...you'll have to wait until he or she gets out!!

Which state did you get married in? I was wondering how you were able to get a marriage license? I tried in Pennsylvania and the court house required him to be there in person and so there is no way we can get married since he can't be released to go to the court house and there is no one at the court house that will travel to the prison to have him sign it. We both have to be present with ID for the license to be valid.

Any I was just reading the responses, because I to wanted to know the question to what you asked.
Just remember these are peoples opinions you didnt ask for. If you love him get married. My boyfriend has a felony and he has a job when he gets out. You can get a job when you have a felony. Direct your man to this site when he gets out www.hard2hire.com a lot of people don't know about this website but it will tell you exactly what jobs hire if you have a felony parole etc..
If people are not going to answer the question don't respond

Well if the one who is in jail has been a good person in jail then he/she might get privileges. It also depends on where you live. Talk to a lawyer about it. He'll get your papers ready and maybe then you can get married while she is in jail. Good Luck and God Bless!

Call the county clerks office in the city he in jail in, also call the jail itself to find out what procedure they allow for the ceremony and they will pretty much guide you through what to do. Good Luck

I know it's possible to get married while you're in jail because my friend's ex got married to a woman while he was in jail. So talk to the people in charge of the prison and see what they say.

If he is in jail, you should just wait until he gets out. But if he's in prison, then you both need to talk to the warden, and the priest there in the prison. I really think that you should wait nonetheless because so many different things happen when a man is in prison, and you are waiting for him. This takes a huge commitment on both of your parts, and it is taxing on the emotions. I would wait. Hope this helps, good luck.

I can understand that you love someone but depending on why they are in prison, they will come back a changed person and you may not like the changes. I would hold off till he gets out and see what happens.

Well it is not allowed to any criminal to get marry in jail so you have to wait for her bail so that you both can marry with each other because this is the only way you both can get married.

I think you need to get your head examined! No, really dear, I know that love is a strong emotion, that can overwhelm your good sense, but I can tell you from my own personal experience that there are several places that you don't go to find a husband. 1.Jail, 2. Mental hospital 3.Bar. I have had some powerful relationships with people who hang out at these places, but the eventual heartbreak and stress caused by these, far outweighed any good feelings I may have had about the relationship in the beginning.
