Suboxone is a drug I don't think a doctor would have you BOTH on for five years. Something sounds fishy about your question. First of all this medicine is prescribed to help with the withdrawal symptoms of a drug addiction such as heroine. That tells me if you are obtaining this medication legally then you two have had a drug addicted past. Second of all it warns it could cause infertility in patients. I am still stumped at the "five" years you BOTH have been on it. Something don't sound right. If this is legit then talk to the prescribing doctor about your desires to have another baby and discuss the risks involved and the plan for weening off this medication. If you are obtaining this medication illegally then you have a lot of growing up to do before you bring a child into this world.

I have heard of people being on that medicine for many years. Mostly due to the risk of them relapsing. That is depending on how bad the addiction was and how long they were addicted. Some doctors say it's something you could be on for the rest of your life. There is a different type of that medicine that they give expecting mothers. The baby does have to be winged off after birth but from my understanding the affects of this medication is far less harmful to the baby than street drugs would be. Talk to your doctor and ask him or her about the other brand that you can take while trying to conceive if you're unable to wing yourself off the medicine you're on now. Good luck!
