Do (or did) your parents ever address you as "[my] son" or "[my] daughter"?

I see this a lot in TV shows and wonder how common it is.

My dad occasionally address me as "son", but it's rare. I have so many other nicknames from my parents ("Camster" is the one I get the most lol) that it seems weird to be called "son" when it happens.

My father never did, but I know several fathers who do.
