Having had this arrangement modeled to you through your formative years would have likely had impact on your decision process. That, and you are wise enough to discern the immaturity and lack of personal accomplishment inherent in males of your age group. Nothing wrong with holding a higher standard.

It could be, but it could also be that you like people who act a bit mature than those your age. You may find as you get older that it balances out.
