That I needed pots and pans and furniture when I move out. I thought grilled cheese sandwiches came in a bag and were already hot.

I wish they had told me cooking was a science and recipes were mere suggestions.

One thing that I wish I had more of was the ability to read the actions of people around me. My grandma raised us to always see the best in people and to give people chances. I often got taken advantage of. I soon started to study the bible which also promotes this same principle, but I got some advice from spiritually mature ones that told me: " Surround yourself with those who have the same goals in life that you have and you will be ok." this is what I have done and it has been great. I am very happy with my life

Expect the unexpected. Save for a rainy day, because you will have an emergency - you won't know when - you just know it will come. And lastly, always be kind. You never know who will need a kind word or gesture to brighten their day.
