Do you forget "Injustices" easily? (I'm not speaking of Forgiveness.)

Dear Jan,

I would never even want to forget, because someone's ability for justice is part of how I relate to them...

Typically I don't even find myself in the "line of fire" for injustice, because I start with my own sense about people, and if they are incapable of justice I would just duck and dodge those situations, pre-emptively. So if they do me an unexpected injustice, I simply adjust my relationship with them.

But you must always fine-tune also; as people grow in the way of love, over the years of their life, their capacity for justice expands.

* * *

Actually, I usually make it a point to trust people a little beyond their ability, just for room to grow...

Well Jan, not easily, no. That being said, I do have to add that the one major "injustice" in my life I must try to forget, learn from, yes....but also forget, lest it control the rest of my life...and that would be giving waaay too much power to that injustice. So yes, I choose to forget it and leave it where it belongs.

Hi AS, I don't dwell on injustices, just a couple of them, various levels, but some I can't forget. There's no negative thoughts about the person, but I won't give across the bridge again.

In one of his books, Asimov had a tyrant say, "I'm glad you're not looking for justice, Mr. Bayley.  People who want justice are such nice people that it's a shame to disappoint them."

Life is full of injustices but even though I may shrug off the minor ones, I remember the biggies.

Oh Dozy...Asimov so wonderful...I have so much reading lined up I may never get back to more of his, I think the last I read was his autobiography...actually it was either you or else Best Of Life on Ask.com who suggested "Asimov Laughs Again," that is kinda up there on my lists to-read.

I forget most of the time, because it hurts me more if I don't.

Once this great man said:

-Forgive your enemies but never forget their names.

Injustice is unforgivable to me! But i might forgive under conditions, but never will forget. And i mean never.

I remember a line from the old Kung Fu TV show:  "Get rid of those things that force you to serve them---whether they be as sacred as a chalice or as humble as a pebble."

I've found it to be useful advice for dealing with injustice also.
