Congratulations 💏 It's been said 2x anyone gross monthy salary. You can handle being responsible for making excellent decisions and enjoy being happy with your engagement ring💍.

Budget: Pawn Shops, Wal-Mart, JCPenneys, Macy's, Kay Jewelers and Zales.

Don't worry and get what you like, don't sacrifice on your ring. Use your good judgement and you won't start off in debt🤗.

Honestly? For me, a bread tie would work.....it's not the "ring" it's the meaning, the romance, the love, and the person giving the ring and making the day, the moment, memorable that matters.

That would depend on a number of factors .. Being realistic and more importantly being responsible would depend primarily on what you could afford. THAT is not the time to be irresponsible...If anything it should be a time where you should show the most responsibilty by buying something you'd think she'd like, without having to sacrifice your life together because you have to struggle financially.  Being in debt for something like that is not a great way to start off a marriage.

And do not be mean and buy the one that is nice and not that cheap. They also like to show off and tell everyone what kind of ring we buy. So think not only about your girl but also what her friend will about your present

If I knew it was impractical, I would refuse. And I would take it as a warning that the man asking didn't understand fiscal responsibility. My husband bought me a ring with a half carat. Not tiny, but not huge. He has offered to replace it several times over the years for something larger. I keep telling him no. I would rather have new kitchen countertops.

Hm, I think that you are not alive, cause such girls either not exist or do not care about the way they look.

So you're saying that all girls are shallow and materialistic??? Good luck getting anyone to accept your ring with an attitude like that...

You should spend what you can afford.  No sense buying an engagement ring that will negatively affect your financial situation.  That's not a smart way to start your life with someone .. In debt over your head.  The right women for you will love whatever you get her since it's from your heart!

As much as he is willing to lose, if the relationship ends.
Same with a wedding ring.

Of course, if you think in those terms ... You probably shouldn't be getting engaged or married.  LOL

You  figure out your budget on how much you can save and how long you want to save for. Do not buy on credit. It costs so much more that way and being in debt is not the way to start a marriage. Also depending on the bride-to-be's taste, it doesn't have to be a diamond either. There is aa trend now that people are using sapphires, emeralds, or rubies, with small diamonds as accents. And don't be afraid to look for closeouts. I got my wedding band from a store going out of business. We only paid 40% of the original price.
