Your question is?

If you don't want to Hang Out" be firm, steadfast and keep refusing.

Hang Out has two meanings.

Go out to places or chill at home.

Try to find some common hings to do.

It's not that I never want to hang out. It's just that she always wants to. I'm just the kind of person who enjoys staying inside with my family.

There are two things that come to mind here. One is you need to be better at explaining family time and how it is not time for guests. The other thing is why is your friend trying to escape her family so much? You might want to have an honest discussion about that and find out of there are any problems that she might need help with.

Find them another friend. Then you can get some space :)

I also see two issues here. One you need to be firm, but with kindness. When you say no it must be respected. People cannot respect your boundaries if you do not stand by them. Two, what is she running from? Be firm, but thoughtful and kind. She might need you more than you could ever know.
