No, I wouldn't. I would have started my profession earlier in my life though.

It's one of the few things I would change. My job was obsolescent almost before I finished training for it. Given a second bite of the cherry I'd probably get a degree in commerce.

Fascinating.

Even the US Coast Guard stopped requiring it's communication specialists to know Morse code a few years ago.

I remember, because there was a story a couple years ago that a HAM operator had to "decode" an SOS message for a USCG ship. > I also thought it was strange the USCG didn't have the software to decode the message themselves. It's so inexpensive.

I'm surprised they were still using it, although it survived much longer at sea than on land lines.

I enjoyed the job that I trained for, unfortunately due to my health I cannot do it anymore. I've often thought that studying law might have been a good way to go.

I trained to be a photographer, so it was obvious that I would end up as a computer professional.

I helped to invent SGML - the forerunner of HTML, but somehow failed to realize how important "the Web" would become.

So.... I wouldn't change my profession but I would look differently at tech. Developments as they came along.

That's one of the problems associated with being good at many things---you lose true perspective on what you have achieved.

I can't say a have a profession yet because I don't have that much working experience. But ... I would surely start fishing earlier and by that time I would have become a grand master already...
