You simply become too busy to take her calls / text messages - too busy to hang out with her. Or you could man up and tell her that it's become too difficult to be friends with her. You would prefer to be friends with people that care about you and what you have to say - not do everything they want just because they think you should.

Up to you how you handle this. However, don't think this will be the first or last time you encounter this problem. So sometimes being honest will be hard to do but necessary.

If you're truly friends, you would be able to tell her how you're feeling.  I have a feeling you weren't really great friends to begin with if you feel this way about her though.

I get confused with all these texting abbreviations. Doesn't that second 'f' stand for 'forever'? I'm gonna have to go to dictionary.com and see what forever means. I might have misunderstood.

Well, if you are sure your reaction is appropriate and that she is in fact "bossy, selfish, and rude," you might try talking to her about it.

If she agrees with you, she may try to change.

If she doesn't agree with you, "slowly drifting apart" may well be accomplished immediately.

If you don't want to be friends anymore, and if she is bossy and rude, why do you care if you "gently drift" away from her. Just be honest with her and yourself and walk away. Don't answer texts or calls, If she does pin you down and ask why you are not answering, tell her you are tired of being treated badly.

Given time, people change.

One day you will find this out,

because you will change.

It's a good thing.
