Why would I want my boyfriend to listen to you?
Do you mean how to you get your boyfriend to listen to you? If so learn this early on, the male of the human species has selective hearing. If there is something important you need him to hear, have him stop whatever he is doing and look at you. Then say whatever it is you need to say. Then have him repeat it back to you.
I don't have a boyfriend and If I did, he wouldn't listen to you anyway.

There is a difference between Listening, and Intently Listening.
When I first moved into my area, the Air Force base was still up and running. Planes flying in and out all day long. It was part of the background because it was part of the environmental ambient noise . . . After a while you stop noticing those things that happen over and over again. When the Base closed, and the Air National Guard moved in a few years later, people complained about the air craft noise . . .
What had happened is that that noise that kept repeating itself had ceased, and the new environmental ambient noises didn't include the sounds of jets anymore.
. . . When you speak, say something of relevance so as not be disregarded as so much ambient background noise that fades into obscurity.
