Same reasons as always. Commitment, sharing, loving, creating your own microcosmic world where two people can combine to make something far greater than either is likely to achieve on their own.

It ain't always easy but, if you work at it, it's very worthwhile.

Many get married for a lot of different reasons, the main reason is love. Others can revolve around security and companionship. Marriage is a God created  perfect Union involving imperfect people. So when we choose a  mate we should consider it a serious matter. We should look for individuals who have our best interest in heart. You should share the same goals in life. Whether spiritual or material. We should work hard to listen. I got some advice that's  really rung true: "Marriage is made up of two good forgivers".

For most of the same reasons they always have. Marriage is not for everyone, and not everyone can make it work, but for those of us who do, it's as good as it gets.
