What do you do if a close friend from the past comes back into your life but has undoubtedly lost their mind in the time that you knew them and appears?

Some people cannot be reasoned with. It's just a simple fact. You might just take some time to absorb the person they are now, without thinking of a rebuttal argument in your head while they are talking. Just really listen to what they are saying.

After you've taken some time to listen, you might just say, "You know, I've been thinking about some of the things that you have been sharing with me. You might think that I share the same view as you, but I don't. I don't agree with what you said about ______.  We haven't been close in about two years and there are many things that I've changed my opinion on.  I actually disagree with you about ____."
