I was not raised in an affectionate household. I did raise my children with a lot of hugs and kisses. My husband and I have always displayed respectful affection in front of our children. I usually hug people that I care for when I greet them and say goodbye. I do have some people who are not comfortable with displays of physical affection. So, I only hug them when the situation calls for it. So, it depends on the person and the situation.

Because I believe life is short, I always make sure people in my life know they are loved, if not by a hug than at the very least with my words.

Less important than you'd think.  Physical touch between a mother and child (for example) is far different than physical touch between teacher and student .. For obvious reasons. Emotions can be shown in many ways ... Much depends on appropriateness.

You don't have to have any physical touch in order to show affection .. It's easy for some to outwardly show and very difficult for others .. It's a very personal  thing.

That depends very much on the two people concerned and the type of affection. Hugs are usually pretty safe but even they can be misinterpreted.

It's important. You can never truly understand how important it is until you love someone you can't have physical contact with regularly. It's just too  hard not to .  It's important for your well being .

It depends on who is giving and who is receiving the affection.  Some people are touchy feely and others keep their physical affection for those closest to them.
