I have an overly obsessive crush on a guy. I don't want to, but no matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to make it go away. How can I stop it?

I know this is a really horrible situation to be
in - when you have a crush on someone, it is sometimes all you can
think about. It can even make you depressed.

There are a few things
that you can do to speed up the process of getting over someone, but
I'm afraid the best healer is time.

How to get over a crush

  1. Think of all the bad things about this crush
rather than all the good things. Even if this seems mean, everyone
has bad qualities, be it the way he looks or the way he acts. Focus
on the qualities that will put you off the person a bit.

  2. Distract yourself- A good way not to think
about something is to keep yourself busy all the time. Throw
yourself into work and seeing your friends, even other boys if you
can! You could even try and get into a new hobby.

  3. Try not to speak to or see your crush- This
could be difficult if you see this person everyday at school or
work, but just try to avoid them as much as possible. Also try and delete them from social media, as seeing what they are
up to all the time won't help your situation.

  4. See someone else - The quickest way to get
over someone, is to get close to someone else instead. Although this time, try to make sure that it is the right person to have a crush on, rather than someone who won't reciprocate your feelings.

If you follow these steps, it should be easier to
get over this person. It will take time, but don't let it get to you,
things will get easier!
