In her generation, my Mother had to be one of the first women's libbers. She was an independent person and passed that on down to me and I made every attempt to pass it to my daughter. My Mother worked not because she had to, but because she enjoyed it. Working gave her the opportunity to have her own money and not be dependant financially on her husband (my Father). While most Moms were home baking cookies and enjoying the challenge of cleaning the stove, my Mom was demonstrating to me what the words "work ethics" was all about. My Mother was not the traditional Mother most girls had when I was young. She was a strong, independent, yet loving Mother, who had rather work than dust. She was an inspiration.
