Because they love you and they don't want you to make the same mistakes they made when they were your age. Just love them back. =)

People need discipline or else thy think thy can do what ever thy want. The parents es duty is to make sure you are prepared for life so thy have to discipline you when you get out of line. A nd believe me it is not very pleasant or easy for them ether. You will know when you have kids what I am talking about .

They want the best for their child and they wouldn't want their child to be harmed at the wrong place and wrong time.

Because they love you and want to help you get on a good path that will eventually make you happy even if you can't see it right now. I had a VERY strict father and I didn't get it either. I thought he just wanted control over me. When I got older I saw things differently. He was just trying to be a good father. And looking back now I realize he was. (most of the time.)

Parents only want what is best for you....They were kids once too..... They made stupid choices and  mistakes and  don't want you to go through that..... Be happy you have parents that care and love you... Most kids today have  absent parents, parents on drugs, single parents, unknown fathers...Just be good, stay in school, get good grades and soon you will be 18 and can make your own choices  in life and guarantee you will be calling your parents for help....

They don't mean to be so strict but it is more of not wanting their children to go through what they did growing up, see it more as protection than discipline....the best to you
